In August 2017, COMECA, in partnership with JM Conservation Group, organized a transformative three-day training for over 30 women from five sub-villages in Karatu District. The goal? To equip participants with essential skills in renewable energy, technology dissemination, and sustainable vegetable farming. This initiative empowered women and contributed to poverty reduction and environmental conservation.
The Importance of Renewable Energy in Community Development
Renewable energy plays a crucial role in rural communities, especially for women who bear the brunt of household duties. Access to clean energy like solar power can alleviate the dependency on biomass, which contributes to environmental degradation.
